I love tidbits of information. Nibbles of random you could call them. For now...here is some show and tell with an appetizer of commentary too!
Did I spell commentary right? Oh well...
- In Helsinki, Finland, instead of giving parking tickets,
the police usually deflate tires.
I would be PISSED to say the least. I guess this is one way to get the message across though. I suppose in a sense it is the "capital punishment" of traffic violations.
- Coca-Cola was originally green.
Wonder why it changed to brown? Wonder why it was green? Just think, green soda in a red can. It would be like drinking Christmas, ha! Ok that's probly only funny to me.
- Pineapples do not ripen after they have been picked.
It's like the fruit is laughing at you. Taunting you to pick only at peak perfection or be doomed and forbidden from enjoying such sweet fruit. I say "not cool pineapple god!"
- Alexander Graham Bell, never telephoned his wife or mother.
They both were deaf.
Odd. A headscratcher indeed. This one perplexes me, in a way that I enjoy of course. Makes me ponder human interaction and motivations. We are definitly a complicated species.
- It takes about 142 licks to reach the center of a tootsie pop.
Good to know, now I can check this experiment off my list! I wonder if there are different levels of acidity in peoples saliva though. I may possibly be able to reach the center in less licks! Wonder if I could get a trophy for that!
- The average woman consumes 6 lbs of lipstick in her lifetime.
I'm guessing my intake is double at least. At any given time I have at least 2-4 chapsticks, glosses or lipsticks in my purse or a reachable by arm length radius. Maybe that's whats wrong with me. Lipstick intoxication. Ha ha ha! Ah, I should see if I can get that one published in the medical journals!
